Henna is an organic product naturally manufactured. The cultural and medicinal value is also high. Applying mehndi is a Stone Age ritual. Henna is said as Mehndhi in Hindi and حِنَّاء in Arabic. For every auspicious occasion, it is important to apply on hands and feet based on Indian tradition. This is derived from versatile plant Lawsonia inermis, also known as Hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet. These leaves contain Lawsonia component that gives the orange coloration to the plant.

Methods of use:

Hands or feet or the part it is worn must be thoroughly washed and completely dried with a tissue paper or cloth. Then the cone is used to draw the design. Once the design is decorated hands or the place where designs are drawn is left to dry following which a small quantity of sugar water or lemon water is prepared. This is to be applied externally.

The precaution that is to be followed is prior to design application, it is important to follow patch test 24 hours earlier. Then a full hand or leg application can be made. It is also important to follow the instruction that soap or water must not be used for some time to let it stay for longer duration.
